Lab created diamonds are the perfect substitute from anyone who loves diamonds but is concerned with the ethics in the diamond industry. Lab created diamonds are not just fancy cut glass. The process that creates a diamond in nature is duplicated in a lab producing a gem with the same chemical makeup as a real diamond. While it only takes a few months to create a diamond in the lab versus the million years it takes the earth to create one, the process is very involved and does not always produce beautiful stones. A white lab diamond is extremely rare and difficult to create giving it a bigger price tag than a natural diamond – yellow lab stones are much more common, although good quality lab stones still command a significant price tag!
