Building Your Own Lamp
If you have searched through department stores and large home supply stores like Target or Wal-Mart and you still cannot find the perfect lamp for some room in your home, you might want to consider making one. It is surprisingly simple to make a lamp and if you choose to do it yourself, you can use almost anything for your base and really personalize it. You can find diagrams online and in hardware stores that tell you all the lamp parts you will need. Once you have chosen your base and bought all the necessary parts, building a lamp is essentially like threading a piece of string through beads where the cord is the string. I have seen people make lamps out of books, cds, vases, shoes, cookie jars, and trophies. The possibilities are as endless as your imagination.
