Can Children Practice Yoga?
If you are a parent and looking for a healthy way to build up your child’s strength, agility and flexibility, yoga might be a good option. However, before diving head first into yoga with your child, there are a few things to keep in mind. Yoga can be beneficial to children as long as they are not too young…many children just won’t take to yoga because they are too young and do not have a long enough attention span. Also, you should consult with a doctor prior to practicing yoga with your child. If you have a child that is entering their teens, and they would like to build up strength, yoga can be a great alternative to weight lifting, which is very unsafe for children and has been proven to stunt a child’s growth. Yoga fitness is a great way to introduce health and exercise into your child’s life, provided the circumstances are right for your and your child’s given situation.
