Are you a sports-minded person? Are you fond of playing golf or want to try it? Well, if you are in the area of the Costa Blanca you might want to try golfing either in Ciudad Quesada or one of the many golf courses in the region.

Currently, the town is well-known for its outstanding and beautiful facilities and services. One of these is the La Marquesa Golf – an 18-hole golf course. It was opened in March 1989 and was formerly known as Golf Club Quesada. The golf course originally opened under its present name – La Marquesa Golf Course – in 1994 and was then further improved and enhanced by no other than the owner and designer himself, Justo Quesada Samper.

At present, it is a major amenity of the town as it is situated within the area such that all the villas are either overlooking or are very approximate and accessible to La Marquesa, which also gives it a very strategic business plan. It can also be considered as a central travel spot in the city because the entire course is positioned in a valley between two hills.

The surrounding sites as well as the area itself seem to be just perfect for a golf course. It possesses a variety of slopes that make golf playing a wonderful and enjoyable activity. Also, it has magnificent scenery which consists of lakes, streams, spacious greens and obstacles that can make golfers – young and old – just want to play golf even more.

Moreover, it has a club house situated at the centre of the golf course itself where players and tourists can indulge themselves with a cappuccino, or something stronger, before they play. There is also a restaurant inside the club house to satisfy hungry stomachs. A magnificent terrace is available for viewing play on the course. To top it all, a swimming pool and sun deck are also present to make people enjoy their stay there. What could you ask for more? All this and more are in Ciudad Quesada.

With Thai restaurants popping up in every major city you are more likely to run into one of them, and should you have the time on a boring evening you may even want to check them out directly. Before eating out in a world cuisine restaurant you should be aware of dishes served and habits practiced in them.

Thailand has a very unique climate and with so many bordering countries and influences to its cuisine the outcome leaves nothing to ask for. The foods bear marks of Chinese heritage, Laos and Burma as neighbors also left their footsteps on the cooking style of the north of this 1000 mile long country.

You should be aware of the fact that these dishes are prepared to strike the fine balance between all the basic tastes, and in Thailand hot is a basic taste. There are people who say they don’t like hot and spicy dishes. There are those who say that moderately spicy dishes are okay once in a while. There are those people who are being adventurous and say they can eat a raw chili without blinking, and then there are the Thai people, who do that just to have a snack.

They are used to hot foods so make sure you ask the staff about menu items before having them, for a North American person dishes denoted with ‘hot’ are probably going to be atomic, keep in mind that their scale is probably different from yours.

Vegetarian people should be aware that Thai restaurants use animal produces in dishes they would never have guessed to contain traces of it. Desserts are especially subject to well founded suspicion. If you are a vegetarian always ask before ordering, it can save you a few embarrassing moments.

A common misconception about habits of eating Thai food is that it is done with chopsticks. Most Thai families eat using fork and spoons, meat and other ingredients are chopped to easily consumable small bits, so there is no use of knife at the table.

In Thailand there is no main course and appetizer in its common sense, there are as many dishes ordered and served as there are people, plus one more, because it brings luck to have food on the table. If everything is eaten another round is often ordered. This is why it is a good idea to bring friends when you try out the new Thai eat-in place in the town, and taking friends who are familiar with the cuisine is even better.

The last time I went abroad and I was looking around for villas to rent in Spain I decided on going up into to the mountains. I was looking for a place to rent for about six months; I was not really sure how long I was going to stay there. I am an artist by trade and the way that I saw things was that I was going to paint the scenery for as long as I could before I had to get back to reality again. So there was no point in me trying to get a hold of a property for the long-term. If you are going over to Spain and looking to rent the property on the short-term then you should always look at renting villas in inland. The scenery is spectacular and there is still plenty to do so long as you do as the Spanish do.

My wife and I recently took our summer vacation in France and spent a really enjoyable two weeks driving around sampling the sites and the great food and drink for which the French are famous. We spent one whole week in the Languedoc Roussillon region and I can definitely recommend it if you’ve not already been. One day in particular that stands out was our trip to the small fortified town of Aigues Mortes down on the coast not far from Nimes. This town used to be a medieval stronghold but today is a great tourist attraction, a bit like the city of Carcassonne but on a much smaller scale and right by the coast making it perfect for a day on the beach. I suggest getting there for lunch and then heading for the sands.

While Hurricane Mitch ripped through the Yucatan Peninsula in 2005, it not only destroyed homes and took lives; it also took a very large amount of sand from the beaches of Cancun.  Because the Mexican government realizes the huge amount of Cancun vacation dollars come in from tourists and the like, they set to fixing the situation almost as soon as the storm was over.  Millions of pounds of sand were sucked from the sea bed, and some even trucked in from other locations around the country.  To this day the battle to keep the beaches full if sand continues and purchasers of Cancun vacation packages are strongly recommended to check with their hotel about the condition of the beach before traveling.  Spending time in and around Cancun, Mexico can be one of the best experiences of your life.
