Financial Crisis Hits Home

The financial crisis that everyone has been talking about recently has not really affected our family until recently. I’m sure it has been a problem for many for while now, but its different watching it on the news to when you actually start experiencing it first hand.

My husband just lost his job a couple of weeks ago. It was through no fault of his own, the company he has faithfully worked for for 15 years just decided that they needed to cut back on staff, and he was on the list.

It’s been a bit of a blow for us, as we’ve been living week to week and barely making ends meet. It’s gotten to the point that we’ve had to start selling things off. I had a set of black velvet curtains that we had planned on using some time in the distant future, I thought I’d be able to get a decent amount of money for them, and listed them on eBay, but it seems like most other people are feeling the pinch as well, and no one wants to buy them. My husband has a promising job interview coming up tomorrow, and hopefully this will not be an issue for much longer.
