Going Back To the Barter System
We had a dilemma in our house recently. We’ve had a patio built a year ago, and have been using it quite a lot up until last month, when the summer sun started to shine directly on it in the afternoon, making it unbearable to sit out there. We hadn’t taken the summer sun into consideration when building it, and we have become quite accustomed to being out there in the afternoon. We didn’t really want to give it up, but we have been a little short on cash.
It turns out that a friend of ours had recently started up a blinds business, and was in the need of some landscaping work done. My husband is a landscaper by trade, so we worked out a trade; he would supply and fit outdoor patio blinds and Jack would do the landscaping on his garden. It worked out tremendously, and neither of us had to spend a penny.
