Grade A Maple Syrup Versus Grade B Maple Syrup
You heard it right even maple syrups get to be classified and graded. There are 5 grades of maple syrup that are being used everywhere. However, this article will only focus on the Grade A and the Grade B syrup. Of course both of them are made from 100% maple syrup however, aside from color, they have some other differences.
Grade A syrup is known to be the most delicate maple syrup among all. This grade is normally harvested earlier than the mapling season. It has a very light maple flavor and the consistency is thin. Some people say Grade A is more popular than Grade B but some claim it to be the other way around. Grade B on the other hand is darker in color and is better for organic maple candy. It has a thick consistency and it has a stronger flavor compared to Grade A maple syrup. Grade B is said to be the best choice when it comes to baking and cooking.
Some people prefer Grade B maple syrup better because it has a stronger taste and aroma. They say it compliments well with the daily buttered waffle breakfast.
