A lot of women have terrible misconceptions on ultrasound medical procedure. First, they think it is a painful procedure involving slicing, cutting and bleeding. Of course it is not the case. As a matter of fact, doctor only use transducer with some water-based gel on the examination area. What you feel is just the contact of the transducer with you skin. You should understand that ultrasound machine use only sound wave instead of harmful radiation. It is something not similar to X-Ray and cause no harm to your internal organs or tissues. Besides, the procedure does not cost a bomb to detect any abnormalities in our body. It is in reality costing less than other diagnostic methods. Nevertheless, it only takes a short period of time to complete entire procedure. So, no worries!
