Rapid Drug Detox

The idea behind ultra rapid detox is that an opiate addicted person can be put under, as if for surgery, and their system can be flushed out from all of the drugs very rapidly.  When they wake up from this somewhat risky procedure, they are said to feel no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever and are basically “cured” of addiction.

Of course they are not really cured, and many people who have underwent rapid drug detox have ended up relapsing very shortly afterwards.  It is not the magic cure that it might seem like at first because the psychological addiction and social pressure to use drugs will remain, even after the drug has been physically flushed from the system.  It takes more than an outpatient procedure for most addicts to change their entire life and find a new way to live.  This is the scope of the challenge that lays in front of any drug addict.
