Seasonal Wedding Ideas: Winter Wedding Centerpieces

Creating appropriate winter wedding centerpieces is possible by bearing the season in mind during the design process. By making this a consideration, you can be assured that the table decorations are in keeping with the weather and the season.

It is a good idea to avoid any decorative touches to the centerpieces, which can be considered too bright in color as these tend to denote a more summery atmosphere. Opting for muted and delicate colors will be more in-keeping with a winter season and will be more appropriate for a table decoration.

Though plants and flowers are often associated with spring and summer, you do not have to forgo them as part of your centerpiece design with a winter wedding. Choosing hardy plants and flowers that thrive in winter can help to add natural accent to the centerpieces while still allowing them to be appropriate for the season.

Using pebbles made of blue and clear glass can be an ideal base to create winter do it yourself centerpieces. For example, filling a clear glass vase with them can be a great starting point for further decorative touches. Alternatively, they can be used as an additional ornamental touch to enhance the existing centerpieces by scattering them around the base. If the colors are inappropriate for the wedding, chose other calming colors that are appropriate to winter.

Making use of candles as part of the design for your winter wedding centerpieces can help to add warmth as well as being high impact. A decorative base which is used to hold stick candles will help to create a lovely atmosphere. Why not use smaller candles or tea lights if you want to take the winter theme further? Square jars made of thick glass can be reminiscent of ice cubes and will create a glow when candles are placed inside them.
