Selecting Wooden Shutters

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

The primary concern for an individual selecting wooden shutters should be what the intended use of the shutters will be. If they will be primarily decorative and will not be used as actual window coverings then the heavier woods will create a beautiful frame for a window. If the shutter will be opened and closed, used on a door that has heavy traffic, or come into contact with small dirty hands on a regular basis then one will want to consider the wooden shutters that will last longest and provide the best wear resistance available. Another thing to keep in mind is where the shutters will be installed. Interior and exterior shutters need different amounts of maintenance.
