The Different Models And Game Modes Of Bop It
This is a guest post from Chloe at All Ben 10 Toys.
Bop It is a game that challenges the player’s mental skill, forcing him or her to follow a list of instructions at a faster and faster pace. Several inputs are included in the toy, like toggle switches, pull handles, and spinnable wheels, and orders on how and in which order to activate the inputs are given over speakers.
This article will look at some of the different models and game modes developed over the years. It is far from comprehensive, but includes many important developments.
Bop It Models
The original version of the Bop It was patented in 1996 and re-released in 2000. It was a simpler model, with only three commands and three inputs. As the game goes on, speed increases, and the player has to react faster and faster. At the end of the game a score of how the player did is announced, with the maximum score being 100.
The Bop It Extreme was released in 1998. Very similar to the original Bop It, it added two more inputs and commands. The maximum score was also altered, then being 250. In the Bop It Extreme 2 version, inputs were slightly altered, and volume controls added.
From 2005, Bop It Blast raised the maximum score to 500. While playing the game, the voice now announces every time the score is increased by one hundred points. It also reports high scores for each mode individually.
Bop It Game Modes
The main mode for the Bop It toy is the Vox Bop. The Bop It yells out the different commands at a faster and faster tempo, until the player makes a mistake or reaches the highest score possible.
The Beat Bop mode follows the same rules, but instead of yelling out voice commands, a sound represents each different input that needs to be triggered. As an example, the Bop It command turns into the sound of a bass drum.
The Bop It Extreme 2 and Bop It Blast models included a simultaneous multiplayer mode. Each player is assigned a color, when the player hears a command, it must be carried out in his or her color. The player to do it first scores a point, if it’s done at the same time, the result is a draw.
The Bop It games are both mentally challenging and great fun. Especially when in a social setting, the Bop It has a special ability to put a smile on the faces all your guests!
