Practice in a familiar environment at slow speeds, until you are better able to understand the dimensions and reactions of your particular vehicle. A helpful tip is to have a licensed friend talk you through the process as they come with you, as you practice following instructions you will start to learn what you need to do without being told.

Fear of other drivers-

A common fear also is being afraid of the other drivers on the road. Perhaps your particular fear is that they will become angry with you if you make a mistake or that they will judge you negatively. The best way to overcome this particular fear is to learn the local driving laws and obey them. If you are following the law then you never have be upset by the reactions of other drivers. Experienced drivers in many places feel the need to speed. Simply stand your ground, do the speed limit and allow them to pass if they do not like it. On the rare occasion of someone shouting or being hostile simply ignore them as long as it is safe to do so. If a strange driver is following you then drive to a police station or busy public place.

Traumatic memories-

Memories of a traumatic nature are best addressed by talking to a therapist. There is no shame in having stress associated with a past accident. In this case the best thing you can do is talk about your feelings and ease slowly back into the drivers seat.
