Using Direct Hair Implants To Control Baldness
Hair implants got a real bad name when they were first being used in the 1950′s. Infact, the slang term was hair plugs. The reason was the results of the procedure. The original process involved removing sections of scalp that contained growing hair and then transplanting those pieces of scalp into the bald area. This made the bald area look like it had tufts f hair that were just plugged into the bald spot.
The direct hair implant method involves using a special medical device to remove individual hair units. These follicles can then be implanted into the scalp one at a time for a much more natural look. Another problem with the original method was it left scars where the scalp sections were removed from. With the DHI method the only visible irritation is a pin prick sized hole that heals within a few days. This hair implantation method works very well for getting hair to grow again.
