Wood – Environmentally Friendly or Not
It seems that wood has been coming back into favour lately, especially when it comes to home furnishings. We went through a long period of staying away from wood as a material that can be used in the home, more than likely because of all the bad press it got from people harping on about global warming and greenhouse gasses. We’ve started to wise up to these issues though. Most of the wood used in the home now comes from sustainable resources. Your average cheap wood blind is not causing any damage to the environment, in fact most farmers will now plant two trees for every one that they cut down, so you could even argue that your helping our planet. If you are really concerned, have a talk to the retailer that is selling the item you are considering, they will be able to tell you where the wood was sourced from.
